Adam Lambert Kris Allen American Idol Finals
This is it - Adam Lambert Kris Adam American Idol Finals have come and gone. Who's going to win? From the number of searches that Adam gets, the level of interest in him far out weighs that for Kris. But this is no 100 percent indication that more people are going to vote for Adam simply because the searches could be for scandalous pics of Adam.
The American Idol finalists each sang 3 songs, namely 1 song from their favorite past performances, 1 song chosen by the producer Simon Fuller and the traditional American Idol winners song that both contestants have to sing.
They should really do away with this sucky tradition because since when has the song written for American Idol ever sound halfway decent. Not only do the melodies suck, the lyrics are sappy crap with phrases such as - "you can go the mile", "the future has no boundaries", "my dream has finally come true" - you get the drift. And this season's song is written by Kara DioGuardi. She has written some good songs but this isn't one of them - in fact, I would go out on a limb to say this could be her worst song yet.
Anyway rant over - back to Adam and Kris.
Adam Lambert sang "Mad World" for personal choice.
Generally great comments from the judges although Simon Cowell only thought to mention that the long coat Adam was wearing made it look like Phantom Of The Opera.
Simon Fuller chose a Sam Cooke song,"A Change Is Gonna Come" for Adam Lambert.
All the judges loved this 110 percent.
Kris Allen sang "Ain't No Sunshine" for personal choice.
Kris did well with this and got very good comments from the judges.
Simon Fuller chose Marvin Gaye's "What's Goin' On".
Not so good comments with Simon Cowell saying it sounded like a group of college boys strumming the guitar and singing in the dorm.
As for Kara DioGuardi's shiteous song, none of the judges made any comments on the song and the comments were generic and non-committal at best.

Adam Lambert Kris Allen American Idol Finale

Next week, Adam Lambert will face or rather sing off with Kris Allen in the American Idol Season 8 Grand Finale. This is a big shocker for everyone as it's been assumed that it will be an Adam Lambert vs Danny Gokey final. As it happens, Danny Gokey was voted off in the 3 way battle for the grand final.
Apparently only 1 million votes separated the 2 top contestants in the 88 million votes cast.
Danny Gokey sang You Are So Beautiful, own choice and Dance Little Sister chosen by Paula Abdul. I have this feeling that Paula Abdul may have indirectly caused Danny to lose votes. Looking at the number of searches for Danny's free MP3 downloads, there are quite a number for "You Are So Beautiful" but hardly any for "Dance Little Sister". I think people hated that song and performance.
Kris Allen sang "Heartless", own choice and "Apologize", judges' choice. By comparison, there were quite a number of searches for both performances but Kris Allen - Heartless free mp3 download far out-numbered "Apologize".
Adam Lambert sang "Cryin'", own choice and "One", Simon Cowell's choice. There are about an equal number of searches for both performances but then Adam Lambert free mp3 download has always been the top search for all American Idol contestants.

In another American Idol first, the top 4 finalists have to sing duets. Adam Lambert and Allison Iraheta sang "Slow Ride" by Foghat. The good thing is that they complement each other since both are basically rockers. They pull off a credible performance. Simon Cowell noted that Adam Lambert may have thrown Allison Iraheta a lifeline in these final stages of the American Idol Season 8 competition.
Things did not turn out so well for the other duet of Danny Gokey and Kris Allen. Bottom line - they sucked! But no matter, cos they also didn't do that well individually. What would be great is that both Adam and Allison advance to the finals. That's a showdown alright.
This duet thing is another hair-brained idea from the American Idol producers. Earlier on, they couldn't plan the show properly and didn't have enough time for all 4 judges to speak after each performance with the result that only 2 judges spoke. After the blogosphere unanimously derided this state of affairs, they managed to get all 4 judges to give their opinions.
