Adam Lambert Kris Allen American Idol Finals

This is it - Adam Lambert Kris Adam American Idol Finals have come and gone. Who's going to win? From the number of searches that Adam gets, the level of interest in him far out weighs that for Kris. But this is no 100 percent indication that more people are going to vote for Adam simply because the searches could be for scandalous pics of Adam.

The American Idol finalists each sang 3 songs, namely 1 song from their favorite past performances, 1 song chosen by the producer Simon Fuller and the traditional American Idol winners song that both contestants have to sing.

They should really do away with this sucky tradition because since when has the song written for American Idol ever sound halfway decent. Not only do the melodies suck, the lyrics are sappy crap with phrases such as - "you can go the mile", "the future has no boundaries", "my dream has finally come true" - you get the drift. And this season's song is written by Kara DioGuardi. She has written some good songs but this isn't one of them - in fact, I would go out on a limb to say this could be her worst song yet.

Anyway rant over - back to Adam and Kris.

Adam Lambert sang "Mad World" for personal choice.

Generally great comments from the judges although Simon Cowell only thought to mention that the long coat Adam was wearing made it look like Phantom Of The Opera.

Simon Fuller chose a Sam Cooke song,"A Change Is Gonna Come" for Adam Lambert.

All the judges loved this 110 percent.

Kris Allen sang "Ain't No Sunshine" for personal choice.

Kris did well with this and got very good comments from the judges.

Simon Fuller chose Marvin Gaye's "What's Goin' On".

Not so good comments with Simon Cowell saying it sounded like a group of college boys strumming the guitar and singing in the dorm.

As for Kara DioGuardi's shiteous song, none of the judges made any comments on the song and the comments were generic and non-committal at best.

Adam Lambert Kris Allen American Idol Finale

Next week, Adam Lambert will face or rather sing off with Kris Allen in the American Idol Season 8 Grand Finale. This is a big shocker for everyone as it's been assumed that it will be an Adam Lambert vs Danny Gokey final. As it happens, Danny Gokey was voted off in the 3 way battle for the grand final.

Apparently only 1 million votes separated the 2 top contestants in the 88 million votes cast.

Danny Gokey sang You Are So Beautiful, own choice and Dance Little Sister chosen by Paula Abdul. I have this feeling that Paula Abdul may have indirectly caused Danny to lose votes. Looking at the number of searches for Danny's free MP3 downloads, there are quite a number for "You Are So Beautiful" but hardly any for "Dance Little Sister". I think people hated that song and performance.

Kris Allen sang "Heartless", own choice and "Apologize", judges' choice. By comparison, there were quite a number of searches for both performances but Kris Allen - Heartless free mp3 download far out-numbered "Apologize".

Adam Lambert sang "Cryin'", own choice and "One", Simon Cowell's choice. There are about an equal number of searches for both performances but then Adam Lambert free mp3 download has always been the top search for all American Idol contestants.

In another American Idol first, the top 4 finalists have to sing duets. Adam Lambert and Allison Iraheta sang "Slow Ride" by Foghat. The good thing is that they complement each other since both are basically rockers. They pull off a credible performance. Simon Cowell noted that Adam Lambert may have thrown Allison Iraheta a lifeline in these final stages of the American Idol Season 8 competition.

Things did not turn out so well for the other duet of Danny Gokey and Kris Allen. Bottom line - they sucked! But no matter, cos they also didn't do that well individually. What would be great is that both Adam and Allison advance to the finals. That's a showdown alright.

This duet thing is another hair-brained idea from the American Idol producers. Earlier on, they couldn't plan the show properly and didn't have enough time for all 4 judges to speak after each performance with the result that only 2 judges spoke. After the blogosphere unanimously derided this state of affairs, they managed to get all 4 judges to give their opinions.

Adam Lambert Is Born To Be Wild

The future American Idol Adam Lambert sang "Born To Be Wild" for the American Idol Top 7 performance week: Adam Lambert “Born To Be Wild” MP3 Video where the theme was songs from the movies. It's just like Adam to pick a song that no one else will even dream of singing and have a blast with it. In fact, Adam is the only one to pick a fast song this week, everyone else chose cheesy ballads.

Look at the song choices of the other contestants - "Everything I Do, I Do It For You", "Have You Ever Loved A Woman", "Endless Love", "The Rose", "I Don't Want To Miss A Thing" - wow, can you say BORING, BORING, BORING!! What's more, no one was great in their performance. If not for Adam Lambert, the audience might just nod off to sleep.

Adam Lambert was electrifying and changed his look appropriate for this week. Switching from his jedi-like outfit for biker rock goth since "Born To Be Wild" is a classic rock song from the cult movie Easy Rider.

My only grouse for the week is Quentin Tarantino. He may have been a great director once, but he's clearly let success go to his head resulting in his recent films being stinkers. Plus, being a movie director doesn't exactly qualify him to direct music.

Next week will be interesting if it is Broadway week as Adam Lambert has his roots as a Broadway theatre performer.

Adam Lambert "Mad World" MP3 Video

Check out Adam Lambert singing Mad World: Adam Lambert “Mad World” MP3 Video. The next American Idol Adam Lambert continues to astound us with his immense talent. He's proven he can do rock and give Steven Tyler a run for his money, but he can also do sensitive ballads with an edge. Most people can do ballads but Adam Lambert always has that extra touch in his vocal prowess that makes his performance stand out by a wide mile.

In his American Idol Top 8 performance, Adam Lambert picked a great song orignally by Tears For Fears, with a terrific arrangement by Gary Jules which was featured in Donnie Darko and he put in his own theatrical mix into it and does it sound haunting, what a performance!

Because of poor time management by the American Idol Floor Manager, the show over-ran and the judges comments for Adam has to cut to just Simon. But instead of giving a verbal critique, Simon Cowell gave Adam Lambert a standing ovation. This is probably the ultimate compliment from Lord Cowell - anyone remembers if he's EVER given a standing O to a contestant?

Adam Lambert is the most exciting and talented contestant in the history of American Idol.

Adam Lambert Scandal Photos

So far, Adam Lambert seems to be the strongest contestant in American Idol 8. A singer by profession, he's been singing since age 10 and it shows. He's totally comfortable on stage since his profession is to perform night after night and he has to bring it for every show. He's learning to tone down his singing style though, since stage singing tends to be a little over the top to compensate for the distance from the audience.

As pointed out by the judges, Adam Lambert has an incredible vocal range being able to go from deep bass to high rocker screams. However, he has to manage how far he goes otherwise every song he sings will sound similar. He did a great job on The Rolling Stones classic Satisfaction and just from this performance, it is evident that he's the one to beat.

But would an Adam Lambert scandal affect his chances of winning American Idol? There are Adam Lambert photos showing him in drag and engaging in open mouth kissing with other guys. It's hardly news that he's gay but then this may turn out to be his undoing as he would most likely have lost the votes of housewives and teenage girls.

In the previous season of American Idol, another contestant, David Hernandez's photos of him working as a stripper in a gay bar surfaced and coincidence or not, he was voted out shortly thereafter even though he had a great voice and definitely deserved to stay longer.

Let's hope Adam Lambert does not suffer the same fate because he is truly the most talented of the lot and deserves to go all the way to the finals, if not win it.

Songs Written By Kara DioGuardi

Kara DioGuardi

Like you, I've been wondering what hit songs did the new judge on American Idol Kara DioGuardi write that articles refer to her as "legend" in the music scene. So I went digging and on her official site, there is a list of the songs which she's written.

  1. Walk Away - Kelly Clarkson

  2. Ain't No Other Man - Christina Aguillera

  3. Pieces Of Me - Ashlee Simpson

  4. Escape - Enrique Iglesias

  5. Rich Girl - Gwen Stefani

  6. Sober - Pink

  7. Come Clean - Hillary Duff

  8. Taking Chances - Celine Dion

  9. Beep - Pussycat Dolls

  10. Play My Music - Jonas Brothers

  11. Spinning Around - Kylie Minogue

  12. We've Got The Party - Hannah Montana And Jonas Brothers

  13. Baby Love - Nicole And Will.i.am

  14. I'm Feeling You - Michelle Branch And Santana

  15. Ohh Ohh Baby - Britney Spears

  16. Something That I Already Know - Backstreet Boys

  17. Lost - Faith Hill

The biggest or most well known hit on the list would be Spinning Around by Kylie Minogue with the rest being filler but at least she's current. One of the problems that American Idol had in the past was that it was always sinking into old school with producers and judges choosing songs by Elton John and other dinosaur rockers for the contestants most of whom are below 35.

With Kara DioGuardi who's written songs for Jonas Brothers and Britney Spears, at least she brings a youthful relevance to American Idol.
